About Us

Dr Steve George

Dr Steve GeorgeDr Steve George is a climatologist at ACE CRC and is currently developing and expanding the predictive systems used to provide extreme sea level forecasts. He has a general interest in coupled climate models, with a specific interest in Antarctic applications. With an initial atmospheric bent, Steve has worked on problems ranging from ozone-chemistry in the middle stratosphere, to anomalous heat storage in the ocean seasonal mixed layer.

Dr. John Hunter

Dr. John Hunter

Dr John Hunter is an oceanographer and honorary research fellow at ACE CRC and is the developer of the method of estimating sea-level extremes. His current interests are the sea level rise induced by climate change, and the response of Antarctic ice shelves to global warming. Recent work has involved investigations of sea level rise in Australia, the U.S., and in the Indian Ocean and Pacific regions, and the way in which this rise increases the frequency of extreme sea level events.
